  5. WordPerfect Interactive Testing System lets you create and
  6. administer multiple-choice testing questions, and track each
  7. student's progress, scores, and history.  It also lets you
  8. determine the points per question, the number of points required
  9. to pass, and who is permitted to take the test.

  11. For information on deleting the sample data in WITS, see the
  12. file titled README.APP.
  13.  
  14. You may copy and modify this database for your own or your
  15. company's use.  You may not copy the database and resell it. 
  16. Please be aware that while WordPerfect Corporation provides
  17. support on DataPerfect questions, only limited support is
  18. available for these predefined databases.  No support is
  19. available for the databases if they have been modified.
  20.  
  21. PANELS
  22. WordPerfect Interactive Testing System database was created with
  23. a built-in menu to make navigating easier, and security measures
  24. to make it difficult for non-authorized people to access.  The
  25. main menu allows access to one or two submenus, depending upon
  26. the User ID and Password you enter as you enter the database. 
  27. The first time you enter the database, you may press Enter to
  28. bypass the User ID, and Enter again to bypass the Password.

  30. MENU OPTIONS
  31.      If you entered the database as Definer, you will see two
  32. menu options.  The first time you use the database, you should
  33. specify Definer and Supervisor passwords (press Shift-F9, 5),
  34. then you should define Teachers and Students from the Teacher
  35. menu.  Select option 1 to input information for each individual,
  36. then select Teacher Menu option 5 to assign a security level (see
  37. Teacher Menu option 5 below).

  39. Student Menu Options
  40.      Student Menu option 1 lets you take one or more tests.  The
  41.      tests are part of a report which queries the database to see
  42.      if you are authorized by the teacher to take a test.  If you
  43.      are authorized, you can select one of the tests listed or
  44.      cancel.  If you do not cancel, the test is given.

  46.      Student Menu option 2 lets you review and correct your     
  47.      answers.

  49.      Student Menu option 3 verifies your answers and scores the
  50.      test.

  52.      Student Menu option 4 lets you review your personal
  53.      information, including test scores.  You cannot change
  54.      information in this panel.

  56.      Student Menu option 5 lets you change your password.  The
  57.      default password, which is assigned when the Teacher inputs
  58.      information from Teacher Menu option 1, is NEW.  Each
  59.      student should use Student Menu option 5 to change the
  60.      password to assure privacy.

  62. Teacher Menu Options
  63.      Teacher Menu option 1 lets you enter or edit a student's or
  64.      teacher's information (name, address, User ID, Social
  65.      Security Number, and Phone).  When a record is created in
  66.      this panel, a matching User ID record is also created.  Once
  67.      you assign Definer and Supervisor passwords to the database,
  68.      only a registered student, teacher, or the Definer or
  69.      Supervisor can enter the database.  You should instruct the
  70.      students and teachers to change their password from the
  71.      default NEW to another word to maintain security in the
  72.      database.

  74.      Teacher Menu option 2 lets you create or edit tests.  Press
  75.      Down Arrow while the cursor is on the Questions box to see
  76.      questions you have already defined--you can edit the
  77.      question, answer, points, or comments.  Enter a number in
  78.      the Passing Score field that determines a Pass or Fail.

  80.      Teacher Menu option 3 lets you authorize tests for students
  81.      to take.  Press F6 to edit an existing record, or press F9
  82.      to create a new record.  The record is deleted after the
  83.      student grades the test.

  85.      Teacher Menu option 4 lets you view the students' test
  86.      results.

  88.      Teacher Menu option 5 lets you adjust the security levels
  89.      for each registered user.  Level 1 lets the user access the
  90.      Student Menu, Level 2 lets the user access the Teacher menu.

  92. A student exiting the Student menu is exited from DataPerfect.  A
  93. teacher exiting either menu is taken to the list of databases.
